Touring

Listening Lounges

The Wilding Stories is touring WA in 2022-2024, inviting, communities, events and festivals to host the audio storytelling project, as a listening lounge experience.

The Wilding Stories Listening Lounges vary as each community creates its own version of an independent ambient indoor or semi-outdoor space, with couches, chairs or armchairs, cushions, rugs. The project can supply some cushions and rugs and various natural "decorative dressings” if needed.

The event presenter and/or their community liason person sources space & venue furniture/dressings to create a 'safe quiet deep listening environment’ in consultation with the Wilding Stories producer.

The audio installation runs for 1.5 hour sessions: 45 mins deep listening to the three audio story versions and an essential 45 mins (minimum) allowed for conversation. We also allow for private 1-1 reflection/discussion afterwards when needed.

The stories are generally heard collectively with groups of varying sizes and multiple facilitators but can also work in intimate spaces, with or without 6 audio headsets, as stand alone installation.

The project can partner with our touring artists team offering relevant and connected workshops following the Listening Lounge experience on the same day, or on consecutive days in a festival, bush camp environment or as a short residency.

“The best storytelling is that which builds a community, and it is in turn, a communal responsibility to make the space… safer for stories.”
